Austin Andrew are currently recruiting for a Principle Auditor to join a District Council based in the East Midlands.

The Audit function undertakes audit assignments covering the full range of the authority's services, with the objective of ensuring that the audit function is undertaken efficiently, effectively and conducted in a professional manner.

The main duties and responsibilities are to ensure that the audit function is efficient, effective and utilizes modern audit techniques, both at personal level and within the team. You will liaise with relevant staff to ensure that adequate controls are built into systems under development, or subject to amendment. You will also undertake or assist within special investigations and projects. You would also ensure that all working papers and files are completed to a professional standard, prepare reports on assignments.

The ideal candidate will hold an accountancy or audit qualification as well as have strong internal audit experience from within the public sector.
