Duties:
Co-ordinate and work closely with the CFO and CEO to maximise profitability and cash flow and help support the commercial vision of the Group.
Support the CFO and provide a commercial analysis and overview of the performance of Company.
Providing commercial leadership and partnership to the Regional Business heads and Operating Directors to ensure profitability of the Company is optimised and controlled.
Seek increased profitability through increased efficiency and management
To act as a commercially based sounding board for project related risks and opportunities that are likely to impact the Company
Co-ordination with the Regional Business Unit heads, Regional FD's, Operating Directors and Centralised Accounts function to ensure commercial and financial corporate business objectives are met
Ensuring that Groups commercial contracts are structured and executed to deliver maximum profit and cash flow to the group.
Direct and monitor the commercial impact and input on pricing of bids and quotations.
Control change management within projects to maximise profit potential
Examine collateral warranties to ensure consistency and risk management is maintained
Advise on Professional Indemnity matters
Consistently reaching and exceeding set Group targets and goals
Principle Duties and Main Responsibilities (Key result areas and limits of authority)
Responsibility for analysing commercial performance and key financial information and full commercial support to the CEO, CFO, Regional Business Unit heads and Directors
Responsibility for providing commercial input to the Company's overall business strategy and planning
Responsibility for providing commercial direction on bids and negotiations
Responsibility for maximising profit from existing contracts
Responsibility for maximising profit through billings
Responsibility for maximising cash flow through billings
Job Requirements (for recruitment purposes)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Excellent working knowledge of Excel,
Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly Numerate
Ability to work quickly and accurately, with limited supervision, good initiative taker when required.
Ability to build strong consultative relationships with new and existing customers / clients internally and externally
Regular progress updating and reporting
Work Experience
Experience of senior commercial management and driving profitability and efficiency improvements within a diversely spread business, ideally from working within a construction, professional or support services sector
Working knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS
Education / Qualifications
Degree educated
Possibly a recognised Financial Qualification such as ACA or CA but the candidate must not want to be an accountant.
Also could be ARICS or similar but would need very strong financial / numeracy skills and a track record in a commercial role.

Excellent organisational skills.
Accurate with a strong focus on attention to detail.
Assertive and able to liaise positively with all members of a large Plc Group from Director level downwards.
Ability to deal with clients / advisers confidently.
Able to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and business contacts at all levels.
